- Support authors of reviews living in DC
- Promote and develop training activities in DC
- To raise funds for extending the Collaboration activities to developing countries
- Become the information and resource point for the activities and resources oriented to the DC
- Promote and develop awareness and dissemination of activities
- Promote access to The Cochrane Library
- Identify trials relevant to DC
Aims and activities of the CDCN:
- To act as the reference for those activities (training, dissemination, translation, prioritisation, research, mentoring, etc.) that are common for developing countries, particularly in those countries where there is no Cochrane activity.
- To increase the number of high quality reviews relevant to developing countries and made by people living in developing countries.
- To establish clear mechanisms for networking in developing countries and actively promoting synergies from current entities
- To detect and channel the needs of people living in DC that may be addressed by The Cochrane Collaboration
- To promote greater participation and inclusiveness within the Collaboration for people living in developing countries
- To establish strategic alliances with other organisations whose activities are devoted to developing countries
- To identify funding opportunities that are beyond the current entities scope
